2012 receiver harness location? (w/sync)
I assume it's this giant mess of spaghetti on the passenger side that's covered in "made in China" stickers, right?
Pictures: (I apologize for my phone's terrible camera)
I just want to make sure I'm not tapping into my air-bag or something else important.
Also the colors with orange purple/orange, green/orange, etc, are the positives and the corresponding white ones are the negatives, right? The colors on the signal wires that I'm connecting to my amp's LOC are white/black, white, purple/black, purple, green/black, green, grey/black, and grey.

I'm just trying to tap in to the speakers and run the signal into my amp's built-in LOC. Is that the right harness of wires for the speakers?

same as 2011 Fiesta and Focus?
I've read in several places that the 2012 Focus shares the same audio specs as the 2011 Fiesta. I've found some wiring harness color info for the 2011 Fiesta:

there is a difference actually. the first color listed is the main color on it; second color is the stripe on that wire. so they will look different.

Do not do this until you have verified with a multimeter! This is only safe to test phase and if you know 100% that the wires are correct. if you get the wrong wires and put voltage to them you could possibly blow an electrical component in the car (including the airbag). I have seen this happen before and even knew someone that set off an air bag and was knocked out by it. needless to say there was injury and expensive cost to fix it.

I finally had a chance to work on my car and can confirm that those are the correct colors. Here's the associated pin #'s:
24: LR- brown w/yellow stripe
25: LR+ brown w/green stripe
26: RF- white w/orange stripe
27: RF+ white w/purple stripe
36: LF+ white
37: LF- white w/brown stripe
38: RR+ brown w/white stripe
39: RR- brown w/blue stripe
They are all clustered together in the bottom center section.

I tapped into them in the passenger side of the center console. It sucks for a sub though, it sounds like the audio is missing a lot of the low end bass. Probably to protect the factory speakers. I wish they just had RCA outputs. [

If anyone can find a better place to tap in, I'd be very interested. Is there a signal for a factory sub anywhere?

If anyone can find a better place to tap in, I'd be very interested. Is there a signal for a factory sub anywhere?
Could there be something where you tapped into the signal headed to the tweeter components at the top of the doors? I could see them being on the downstream side of a crossover device.
Any updates since this on the sound quality?

Also, getting the radio head unit pulled out is really easy, so if you'd rather tap in somewhere up there, it's doable with a harness.

If there is I'd definitely be interested in that.
As far as quality goes, I'm using the built-in speaker level inputs on my Alpine amp, and I'm not impressed at all. The mid-bass is way too high and the sub-bass is way too low. I'm debating on either just trying a cheap LOC to see if it can make the signal good enough, or just biting the bullet and getting one of the nicer ones in the $300 range.
Also, getting the radio head unit pulled out is really easy, so if you'd rather tap in somewhere up there, it's doable with a harness.

I just did it yesterday. Here's what I posted on another thread. I have the base (non-Sony) head unit, but looks to be really similar if you have MyTouch or Nav, etc.
I'm interested in your install because I'm about to buy an amp with speaker-level inputs and plan to power the doors *and* a small sub with it. If I need an EQ / pre-amp device it changes what I'll buy.
